What is this PUG Windows Phone Development Training Program?

Pune User Group in association with Microsoft. is hosting a 4 days FREE training program for technology professionals. In this training program, attendees will learn about application development for Microsoft Windows Phone devices.

What is the fee for this training program?

Registration for this training program is absolutely FREE for any technology professional, who wants to learn Windows Phone Application Development. However, attendees are required to register for Windows Developer Account (at http://create.msdn.com/en-US/) with Microsoft Corporation to avail additional benefits from this program. Upon successful marketplace submission (i.e. application is displayed on Marketplace) of first Windows Phone application, attendee will receive a redeem voucher of the same amount from Microsoft. After third application submission he/she will be liable for various benefits as mentioned here on.

How can I register for this training program?

You can register by simply submitting the Registration Form this page. Please note; you’ll need to have “Windows Live ID” i.e. Hotmail, MSN, etc… while registering for this program. Along with it during, Developer Account Registration process and you’ll need to choose your “Publisher” name and provide it to us. This ID & Publisher name will be tracked down for your submissions.

Who all can participate in this training program?

Following people can register:

• You are a Technology Professional – Software Developer, Project Manager or Software Architect – working and residing in India
• You are not an employee, intern, agent or a relative of an employee of Microsoft or any of their affiliates
• You are not involved in any part of the execution or administration of this Program or “I UNLOCK JOY” program.

How can I participate in this program?

• Submitting three (3) new Windows Phone Apps that get published at the Windows Phone Marketplace by 31st March, 2012;
• Submitting two (2) new Windows Phone Apps that you have ported from existing Android and/or iPhone apps, which get published at the Marketplace by 31st March, 2012; and
• If you are a woman developer, submitting one (1) new Windows Phone App based on Entertainment, Fashion, Leisure, Gaming, Recreation or Travel Themes, which gets published at the Marketplace by 31st March, 2012.

What should I expect from this training program?

• 4 Days complete Hands-On training on Windows Phone Application Development from industry experts
• End-to-End guidance on application development, testing, certification and submission to Marketplace.
• Test devices available at training rooms to test your applications before submission

I do not have App Hub account, Can I just attend training?

No, App Hub account is mandatory to attend this training; you can register your account at https://users.create.msdn.com/Register. It will cost you only 99$. But we have good news for you, after submitting your first App, you will receive a gift voucher which is almost equivalent to this subscription fees.

I do not have ISV id, can you provide me one?

No, we cannot provide ISV id, you can find ISV Id in your App hub profile. App Hub registration will cost you 99$ for 1 year subscription. you can register your account at https://users.create.msdn.com/Register. But we have good news for you, after submitting your first App, you will receive a gift voucher which is almost equivalent this subscription fees.

Can students also participate in the Training?

No, you cannot participate in the training. This Program is not applicable to Students. Only people who have valid App Hub account for individual are eligible to participate in the training and claim the goodies.

Can I get any discount on App Fees (INR 4500)?

Discount is not available on App Hub subscription fees, but we are offering gift vouchers of equivalent amount for all the participants after successfully publishing their first App on marketplace.

My company have the App Hub account, Can I use that account and how many people are allowed on that account?

App hub account for companies or students are not allowed, you must have individual app hub account. You cannot share the App hub account. Only One person is allowed against one individual App Hub account.

Is it "SAFE" to give Credit Card information on App Hub Site?

Yes, App Hub is official site hosted by Microsoft and all your information is safe. For more detail check App Hub website.

Can I pay in Cash/ DD or Cheque?

No, you cannot pay by Cash, DD or cheque. You must use International Credit card to pay.

Do I need to bring my laptop, what are hardware/software requirements and how I should configure my laptop for Windows Phone Development?

I do not have laptop, Can PUG Provide system for workshop?

We are sorry to say but due to logistic limitations we cannot provide PC or laptop to participants.

Is it safe to provide my personal information on PUG site, will PUG share/sale my personal information?
